Top Things To Know About Tuface Planned Protest
SEND ON The planned march against President Buhari and the state of the nation, being organized by one of Nigeria's biggest musicians Tuface Idibia has generated a lot of conflict, online and offline.
For the second day running, Tuface has been trending on Nigerian Twitter as many people express their thoughts about the planned protest.
What do you need to know about this planned protest?
1. Why is Tuface planning a protest?
The popular musician took to his Instagram account about 22 hours ago to announce the planned protest. After getting backlash from sectors about the protest having political backing, he released a 10-part video explaining.
Part of what he said was: "Since 1999, we are still where we are, poor and desperate. I am just a musician with a point of view and the ears of my fans. This march is about demanding that the government connect with all the people of Nigeria, it is not about partisan politics."

2. When and where is the protest holding?
According to the announcement made on his Instagram page, the peaceful protest will hold on Monday, February 6, 2017 at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
3. Supporters
The planned protest has gained support from some quarters as Ekiti state governor, Peter Ayodele Fayose.
Making his support known, via his Twitter handle, he said: Making his support known, via his Twitter handle,he said: "To those planning the "Enough is Enough" National Protest, you have my total support and I will be part of the protest."
Popular musician, Burna Boy also tweeted:
Davido and Wizkid, both popular Nigerian stars, expressed their support as well for the planned March, which will serve as a welcome party for President Buhari who is set to return to the country after a medical vacation in the UK.
4. Opposition
There has been some serious opposition to the planned protest as many claim Tuface is being controlled by the oposition PDP.
One Nigerian professor, Akindele Adetoye reportedly said he had no moral right to lead the protest, saying:

Also according to reports Tuface former music group member, Blackface and some other celebrities have planned to boycott the planned protest.
