Lagos Bus Conductors To Start Wearing Uniforms From Today... From today, bus conductors in Lagos will start wearing uniform as part of efforts to promote the Smart City Initiatives, SCI, of the state government. This was disclosed by the National President of the Bus Conductors Association of Nigeria, BCAN, Comrade Israel Adeshola, in an interview with Vanguard. He said the use of badges on uniforms is to address criminal tendencies by some bus conductors, calling on Lagosians to support the initiative. He also said that the objective is to make conductor’s job attractive, respected and dignified as obtainable globally. Americans Ordered To Leave North Korea AMERICAN citizens have been ordered to leave North Korea by September 1 at the latest as a ban prohibiting them from traveling to the country comes to fruition. An exemption was noted for approved humanitarian travel and for journalists in some circumstances. The ban is to remain in effect for one year, unless it is revoked sooner by US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson. The travel ban was first announced last month in the wake of the death of American student Otto Warmbier. Vice Chancellor's in trouble for taking N5.7m furniture allowance The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is probing financial irregularities levelled against some of the Vice Chancellors and Bursars of federal Universities  Vice-Chancellors of some Federal universities collected over N480, 000 as furniture allowance monthly, National Universities Commission (NUC) chief Abubakar Rasheed has said. Prof. Rasheed broke the news at a workshop on economic recovery and growth for bursars of Federal universities yesterday in Abuja. He accused some of the VCs of financial irregularities, flouting financial regulations and non-compliance with university regulations, especially extant federal circulars emanating from government agencies.
