The Abubakar Shekau faction of Boko Haram sect have released a new video showing the gruesome murder of three men believed to be spies of the Nigeria's Directorate of Military. The sect members allege that the men were sent to spy on them and feed the govt with information about their activities. In the 7-minutes video, the sect members who spoke in Hausa and Arabic, maintained they still hold some territories in Nigeria. On Tuesday, Nollywood actress, Mercy Johnson was appointed by Kogi state governor, Yahaya Bello as his new Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on entertainment, arts and culture. Mercy's appointment was announced in a statement released by the Secretary to the State Government ( SSG), Folashade Ayoade and it takes effect from April 1, 2017. Ethiopian government has declared three days of national mourning for the 72 victims of the garbage dump landslide in the capital, Addis Ababa. As at Monday, 48 persons were confirmed dead. A new report from the authorities has revealed the death toll has increased to seventy-two following a landslide at the weekend. Many people are still missing and authorities fear the death toll could rise even further as recovering operations are still ongoing. Family members are said to be waiting at the site day and night to hear news of their missing loved ones. However, residents are blaming an ongoing construction of a biogas plant as the cause but the government dismissed the claims insisting that people had refused an offer to be relocated.
